The Roma ace is set to begin alongside capital teammate Pablo Osvaldo in Tuesday’s World Cup 2014 qualifier against Malta.

“It won’t be an exam,” he stated. “Come on, it is just a game of football. I won’t be weighed down by it so long as I just do my best out there.”

Destro has become one of Italy’s most promising strikers after he scored 12 goals for Siena last season while on loan from Genoa.

“I accepted Genoa and Siena with great humility,” stated the former Inter youth team player.

“Former Siena boss Giuseppe Sannino taught me a lot, while Roma’s Zdenek Zeman could be the best in terms of a Coach.

“However, the real goal was the Italian national side…”

Destro has won two caps to date – the 2-1 friendly loss to England and the 2-2 with Bulgaria on Friday night.
