Mbaye Niang insists Milan “still believe in third place” under Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.
The Rossoneri have been struggling this season and suffered a 4-0 home defeat to Napoli before the break for international duty.
“Yes we still believe in third place, as there have only been a few games and we are all united. I believe, so does the whole team and the club," said Niang in a Twitter Q&A with fans.

“Before he arrived at Milan, everyone knew Mihajlovic because he had a great season at Sampdoria. As far as we are concerned, he is a great Coach and you’ll see we’ll get great results with him.”
Niang impressed on loan at Genoa last term, but has been injured so far this season.
“I am very proud to wear the Milan jersey, because this is a big club and I want to become part of its history. Right now the rehabilitation process is going well and over the next few weeks I hope to be back on the field.
“I prefer to play as a centre-forward, but if needs be I can play as a wide forward and I did that a few times at Genoa.
“As a little boy I supported Paris Saint-Germain, having been born in Paris, but I also always liked Milan with Paolo Maldini and Andriy Shevchenko.”
Niang was asked about how he gets along with his teammates at San Siro.
“Mario Balotelli is the most entertaining. Philippe Mexes is very important for us, as he’s very experienced and has played at many top clubs. I get on very well with him and also Jeremy Menez. Mattia De Sciglio is the future of Milan.”
