Niang agent: ‘Milan rejected offers’

M’Baye Niang’s agent reveals Milan rejected offers from ‘England, France and Italy’ to keep his client at San Siro.

The 20-year-old initially struggled to settle in Italy after joining from Caen in 2012, and was loaned to Montpellier for the second half of 2013-14.

However, a loan within Serie A last season saw Niang finally unlock his potential, with the Frenchman scoring five goals and providing two assists in 14 games for Genoa.

“There were a lot of clubs after the lad, but every offer was rejected,” Moussa Ndiaye told MilanNews.

“There were offers from England, and also from France and Italy. They were rejected by Milan, and Niang is still here.”

The forward has featured regularly for new Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic in pre-season, and his representative sees that as a positive sign.

“He’s good, I think he’s having a good pre-season, with intense training and interesting performances in the matches.

“He feels that the Coach has confidence in him, and that’s very important. M’Baye knows the only way to maintain that confidence is to work hard and do his best.”
