It’s a crazy transfer day for Napoli as the Partenopei President has reportedly given the green light to sign Billy Gilmour from Birghton for €14m, but at the same time, Al-Ahli are ‘irritated’ by the latest request for Victor Osimhen and will get Ivan Toney instead.
Napoli are ready to sign Scottish midfielder Gilmour from Brighton for €14m, as according to Sky Sport Italia, President Aurelio De Laurentiis has agreed to pay €14m to secure his signature from Brighton.
Napoli unlock Gilmour deal, but irritated Al-Ahli drop Osimhen for Toney
Gilmour will undergo medical tests in England so the two clubs can complete the transfer before the end of the transfer window today.
An even bigger news, however, comes from Osimhen. The Nigerian forward was expected to join Al-Ahli in an €80m deal after reaching an agreement with the Saudi side.
However, according to Di Marzio, Napoli have irritated Al-Ahli by requesting €5m extra, so the Saudi club quickly turned to Southampton’s Ivan Toney. According to the BBC, sources close to the English striker are confident of completing the deal today.
Chelsea remain interested in Osimhen, as Sky Italia reports that the Blues directors are currently in Naples. However, contrary to Al-Ahli, Enzo Maresca’s side don’t have an agreement with the striker.
