Napoli have claimed that the capture of Eduardo Vargas will be their only piece of transfer business in January.
The Chile international will join the club in the New Year after the Azzurri beat a host of outfits for his signature.
“Our club doctor is on his way to Chile for the last checks,” Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon noted. “It’s a deal that we will probably complete.

The Chile international will join the club in the New Year after the Azzurri beat a host of outfits for his signature.
“Our club doctor is on his way to Chile for the last checks,” Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon noted. “It’s a deal that we will probably complete.
“That is the only operation that we will be carrying out next month as we have a big squad at an excellent level.
“We’ll also be recovering injured players in the New Year like Miguel Britos and Marco Donadel.”
Forward Vargas, 22, is currently playing for Universidad de Chile and some reports claim that he’ll cost the Italian outfit €12m.
“That’s not the fee,” continued Bigon. “However, he is certainly a player who was wanted by other clubs.
“Napoli got in there before anyone else and we managed to agree terms despite the competition,” Bigon added.
“We’ve been following him for more than a year, but we only started negotiations a few months ago.”
