Napoli: Sepe yes, Rulli no

Gero Rulli’s agent has confirmed that the goalkeeper is “no longer an option” for Napoli, on the same day that Luigi Sepe is reportedly close to a new deal.

Napoli were heavily linked with Rulli towards the end of July, but Real Sociedad stood firm on their €40m valuation of the Argentine and Facundo Fraga believes his client will stay in San Sebastian for at least another season.

“Napoli are no longer an option for Geronimo Rulli,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Rulli’s happy at Real Sociedad and he won’t move in this transfer window.”

Gazzetta dello Sport, meanwhile, claims Sepe is on the verge of extending his Napoli contract until 2021.

Despite the 26-year-old only making one appearance for the Partenopei last season, he remains Pepe Reina’s No 2.
