Napoli seek new director

Maurizio Sarri will be appointed Coach tomorrow, so now Napoli are trying to find a new director of sport.

It is a summer of change for the Partenopei, who finished fifth in the Serie A table and therefore failed to even reach the Champions League play-offs.

Rafa Benitez left at the end of his contract to join Real Madrid, while director of sport Riccardo Bigon resigned this week and is heading towards Hellas Verona.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the favourite to replace Bigon is Cristiano Giuntoli, who currently works as director of sport at Carpi.

The tiny club won the Serie B tournament and was promoted to the top flight for the first time in its history.

There is set to be a meeting between President Aurelio De Laurentiis and Giuntoli on Monday morning in Rome.

Sarri resigned from Empoli a few days ago and is widely expected to announce his appointment at Napoli tomorrow.
