There are reports Udinese striker and Colombian international Luis Muriel is top of Napoli’s transfer wish-list.
The club needs a reliable back-up for Gonzalo Higuain, as they have struggled for goals when their star striker wasn’t on song.
Duvan Zapata currently has that role, but there are concerns he is not ready for the Champions League.
According to tuttomercatoweb, Napoli have set their sights firmly on Udinese striker Muriel.
He could also play as a support for Higuain as well as his understudy, as the Colombian can also partner Antonio Di Natale at the Stadio Friuli.
However, Udinese President Franco Soldati told Radio Goal there was no truth in this rumour.
“I’d say Muriel is staying with us. He was there at the presentation of next season’s team strip and we want to begin again from him.”
