Napoli agree fee with Brighton for Ostigard

It seems as if Napoli have finally agreed a transfer fee with Brighton & Hove Albion for Norway international defender Leo Ostigard.

The negotiations have been dragging on for weeks, but Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio claims this evening that a deal is finally done.

It will cost circa €5m plus performance-related bonuses and a percentage of any future sale.

He should be in Italy for a medical over the next couple of days.

The 22-year-old already has five senior caps under his belt for Norway.

Ostigard spent the last six months in Serie A playing for Genoa, making 13 Serie A appearances for the Grifone, but unable to prevent their relegation.

Despite being only 22, he is already well-travelled, playing for the likes of Molde, Brighton, St Pauli, Coventry City, Stoke City and Genoa.

The arrival of a new centre-back may well fuel reports that Napoli are ready to release Kalidou Koulibaly.

Meanwhile, Napoli have also agreed terms for Sebastiano Luperto to make his loan move to Empoli a permanent one.
