Nainggolan and Perisic could return to Inter

Inter could welcome Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic back from loan spells at Cagliari and Bayern Munich, but not Mauro Icardi after his PSG move.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Antonio Conte is not entirely averse to giving these players another go, having decided last summer that they did not fit into his tactical project.

With the arrival of Christian Eriksen in January, some adjustments have to be made, and he is ready to consider how they’d slot into that approach.

Nainggolan has impressed at Cagliari, but the Sardinians are unlikely to find the money to pay for his transfer fee or his salary going forward.

As for Perisic, he contributed five goals and eight assists in 22 competitive appearances for Bayern Munich, but there are no guarantees the Bundesliga giants will take up their €20m option to buy.

When it comes to Icardi, there is still no leeway for his return to San Siro, as if Paris Saint-Germain don’t activate their €70m option to buy, then he’ll go straight back on the market.

The former captain reportedly created such a bitter split within the club that he would not be welcome back, not to mention his playing style does not fit with Conte’s hard-working mentality.
