Nagatomo open to Inter return

Galatasaray loanee Yuto Nagatomo admits he still has Inter ‘in my heart’ and ‘would have no problems’ about going back this summer.

Nagatomo has been an ever-present for Gala since joining them on loan in January and is on track to win a Turkish League title, but Nagatomo insists his rapport with Inter remains intact.

“There was competition, I thought about it and ultimately I decided to go down this path,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I couldn’t afford not to go to Russia, the World Cup is a competition that I really care about and I haven’t missed a game since coming here, but Inter are in my heart.

“Champions League? It won’t be easy because their rivals are strong and won’t give up, but Inter can and must get there. Getting into Europe is crucial.

“What will happen at the end of my loan? It’s still too early to say. For now, I want to win the [Turkish] title. After that, I’ll think about Russia.

“I have Inter in my heart, I’m a fan of theirs and I’d have no problems about going back.

“Spalletti? I’ve never had any problems with him. We’re talking about a great Coach. He’s very good.”
