Mourinho on PSG and Inter

Jose Mourinho discussed Chelsea’s Champions League draw with PSG and had a message for Inter fans.

The Blues earned a 1-1 result at the Parc des Princes in tonight’s first leg Round of 16 match.

“It was a difficult game, as in the first half PSG left the initiative to us and waited for us to lose the ball in dangerous areas to go on the counter,” the Special One told Sky Sport Italia.

“After the break they raised the intensity level and played in a more direct manner. They tried to find Ibrahimovic and were aggressive in midfield with Matuidi, David Luiz and Verratti, pushing us deeper and deeper.

“I don’t think the result is a definitive one, but after this game it is to be considered positive. We always play the same way, so at Stamford Bridge we must play to win. This result is too dangerous for us to aim for a draw.

“Tonight many of our players had problems. Fabregas was ill and Oscar injured. I chose to start Cesc because he’s better at keeping possession.

“We did not play well tonight, but that was not our fault so much as credit to PSG.”

Naturally, Mourinho was asked about his beloved Inter, who are now back under Coach Roberto Mancini. Is Mancini the right man to bring Inter back to the top?

“With Mancini, without Mancini, with Thohir or Moratti, it’s all the same to me. Inter is the fans and they have an important space in my heart.

“I hope they can go forward in the Europa League and go back to playing in the Champions League.

“Do I miss Italy? Yes, but Chelsea is special to me.”
