Jose Mourinho’s Roma are still interested in signing Granit Xhaka and the possible arrival of Youri Tielemans to Arsenal could open up a deal.

The Giallorossi were incredibly keen to sign the 29-year-old Swiss midfielder last summer and spent months in talks with his entourage, before a move eventually fell through. Mourinho is still interested in working with Xhaka and would be happy to add him to the squad this summer.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal are looking to bring in Leicester City midfielder Tielemans this summer, allowing them to put Xhaka on the transfer market. The Swiss midfielder has never really seen eye to eye with the fans and his current deal expires in 2024.

Should Arsenal sign Tielemans, Roma would then be able to come forward for Xhaka, finally giving Mourinho his reinforcement.

The 29-year-old midfielder scored one goal and provided two assists in 27 Premier League appearances this season.
