Morata to stay at Juventus

Real Madrid have been handed a transfer ban, so Alvaro Morata will stay at Juventus this summer.

The Bianconeri acquired the striker for a €20m fee in the summer of 2014, but Los Merengues have a buyback option “for the end of the 2015/16 or 2016/17 campaigns”.

However, today’s UEFA decision means that the Spanish side will not be able to sign players for the next two transfer windows, meaning Morata will not be returning to Bernabeu this summer.

The ban will be lifted by the end of the 2016/17 season, so Real Madrid could still exercise their option, which is worth up to €30m, that summer.
