Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo concedes “some people will never like me” after more jeers despite a 2-0 win over Lazio.
Carlos Bacca and M’Baye Niang sealed the second consecutive victory, the first time the Rossoneri have achieved this ‘double’ in Serie A since February.
“We are happy, as we faced the game well apart from the opening 10 minutes,” Montolivo told Mediaset Premium.
“It was a good game, played as a team, and this solid spirit we’ve had for the last two matches is what we need going forward.
“Lazio have quality, so it was a balanced encounter. We did well to be clinical and efficient. Against Fiorentina at the weekend it’ll be a key match for European qualification, which is an objective we want to achieve.”
Despite this result, there were still some jeers in the stadium for Montolivo.
“Criticism is understandable and the San Siro crowd is very demanding. I expect there are some people who will never like me, but there’s nothing I can do about that.”
