Roma director Monchi admits they’re “a long way off” a new contract with Alessandro Florenzi, while there have been no Alisson offers.
The director of sport spoke at a press conference to present new buys Ante Coric and William Bianda, but was also asked about other transfer sagas.
The most pressing issue is Florenzi’s contract renewal, as it expires in June 2019 with Inter and Juventus ready to pounce.

The most pressing issue is Florenzi’s contract renewal, as it expires in June 2019 with Inter and Juventus ready to pounce.
“We are practically still in the same position we were last time I held a press conference for Javier Pastore,” confessed Monchi.
“It is a difficult negotiation, because Florenzi is a great player. I think Roma have made a very, very interesting offer, a great proposal, but I understand he has his demands.
“We are working on it, I am confident, but not much has changed over the last few days. We made an offer that is good, fair and important.
“It’s not true that we’ve set Alessandro an ultimatum, nor would we ever do that, as he is a son of Rome. He grew up here, so whatever happens, he will always be treated with respect. I’m fighting every day to get that renewal.”
As for goalkeeper Alisson Becker, his World Cup is over after Brazil’s elimination and reports of Real Madrid, Chelsea or Liverpool interest have calmed recently.
“It’s the same as Florenzi, nothing has changed, because so far we have not received any offers. I’d say it is strange to claim we have a price-tag in mind, because if we haven’t received any bids, we can’t think about a price.
“Now Alisson is on vacation and will return for pre-season training. If there were new developments, we’d evaluate them, but nothing has come in.”
