Milito: Too much desire to win

Diego Milito feels Inter were eliminated from the Champions League because they showed too much desire to win.

Inter lost the home leg to Schalke 5-2 even though they took the lead on two occasions.

Many have criticised Leonardo for not managing the game properly.

"We compromised our qualification in the first leg," Milito said. "There were too many mistakes on that evening.

"No one can be allowed to concede five goals at home in a Champions League quarter-final. Last night we were conditioned by this obligation to score as soon as possible.

"We lost because we wanted to win at all costs. If we hadn't been forced into launching a comeback, we would have approached the game in a different way.

"Now we'll be criticised. It's part of the game. But we must isolate ourselves from it for two months. We have the job of trying to win the League and the Coppa Italia."
