“We have to remember that we still have to gain access to the group stages of the next Champions League through the preliminaries.”
The Rossoneri left it late to secure the win they needed at Siena last night at the end of a season which began with five losses from their first eight games.
“I lost ten years of life…,” she added. “I would not speak of a miracle though.
“We have always had, since last summer, clear ideas – an innovative development model, bold and forward-looking. The results came in the first year of this revolution.
“We had to wait a few rounds to find the tactical set up. During the first phase of the championship we were 13 points behind Inter and now 18 points ahead, 10 away from Fiorentina and now two points clear. They are not opinions, they are numbers.
“The credit for third goes to everyone, also the club who spent some important numbers during the January transfer session [for the signature of Mario Balotelli from Manchester City].
“The club therefore has chosen to invest and at the same time we wanted to radically change strategy and philosophy.
“Focusing on youngsters, some already top players while others with that potential who can guarantee returns and results not only today, but also in the future.”
Barbara was inevitably asked about the future of tactician Massimiliano Allegri given the uncertainty over whether he’ll stay or go.
“I have no comment to make. Silvio Berlusconi, Adriano Galliani and Massimiliano Allegri will talk about that.”
