Milan met with Ante Rebic’s agent today to agree a new contract, so will now try to purchase him outright from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 26-year-old arrived last summer on a two-year dry loan – so without option to buy – in exchange for Andre Silva going in the opposite direction.
Rebic impressed in the Rossoneri jersey, especially in the second half of the season, finding the net 12 times in 30 official games.
It proved enough to prompt Milan into speeding up the process and trying to buy him a year early.

According to Sky Sport Italia, directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara met with Rebic’s agent today, reaching an agreement for a future contract.
Now they need to work out the terms of the transfer with Eintracht Frankfurt, with or without Andre Silva as part of the deal.
Fiorentina are interested to know what happens too, as when they sold Rebic to Eintracht for €2m, it came with the proviso they’d be owed 30-50 per cent of his sell-on fee.
