Milan wait on Torres, eye Borini

Today is seen as a key day in Milan’s hopes of signing Fernando Torres, with Liverpool’s Fabio Borini listed as a first alternative target.

In the Rossoneri’s search for a replacement for Mario Balotelli, a number of names have been linked and apparently Chelsea man Torres is top.

The Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia lead with suggestions that an agreement between the clubs for the 30-year-old to move to San Siro on an initial loan deal has been reached.

Both outlets suggest that the major barrier to the move going through is in fact the player’s own apparent preference for a permanent move, if he were to leave Stamford Bridge.

Adriano Galliani did comment on interest in Torres yesterday, confirming that at least an approach to Chelsea has been made.

The Gazzetta suggest that today is a key day for Milan to hear from the Spain international on his intentions and to better understand if any temporary move is possible.

If it is not, the Diavolo are reportedly then ready to target a move for Liverpool’s Fabio Borini.

However, the Reds present a similar issue for Milan, as they are reported as unwilling to negotiate a loan deal, instead only intent on an outright sale for the former Roma forward.

Meanwhile, other reports on this matter are that where Adriano Galliani favours sealing a deal for Torres, Pippo Inzaghi is leaning towards Borini, thanks in part to a reported conversation with Carlo Ancelotti.
