Milan are reportedly formulating an offer for Roma star Nicolò Zaniolo, including Tommaso Pobega plus cash to reach the €50m asking price.
According to La Repubblica newspaper, the official proposal would be a cash sum plus a player who is of interest to coach Jose Mourinho and director Tiago Pinto.
The man for the job is believed to be Pobega, a product of the Rossoneri youth academy who spent the last couple of seasons on loan at Spezia and Torino.
He turns 23 next month and already has one senior Italy cap, making his debut in the 1-1 Nations League draw with Germany.
It was an impressive campaign for Pobega, who scored four goals and provided three assists in 33 Serie A games for Torino.
Zaniolo will also be 23 in July and his career has been stalled by two serious knee ligament injuries.
He spent time in the youth academies of Genoa, Fiorentina, Virtus Entella and Inter before he was sold to Roma for €4.5m in 2018 as part of the Radja Nainggolan deal.
He scored eight goals and provided nine assists in 42 competitive matches for the Giallorossi this season.
