There are reports Alexandre Pato will return to Milan this summer due to Giampaolo Pazzini’s injury, just five months after joining Corinthians.

Pazzini will be out of action for four to six months after undergoing knee surgery this week.

It leaves the Rossoneri with a striker shortage and rather than bring in another new player, the Corriere dello Sport claims they will recall Pato.

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi was always adamant the move to Corinthians was temporary and that he’d return to San Siro in two years.

The calendar could be moved forward by the Pazzini situation, at least for six months until the Italian international can return to fitness in January.

Pato requested a move to Brazil so he could regain his fitness ahead of the World Cup and because he missed his homeland.

The 23-year-old is still dating Barbara Berlusconi, the daughter of Milan President Silvio.

Other options include former Milan forwards Alessandro Matri and Marco Borriello, now at Juventus and Genoa respectively.
