Milan target Broja out for season, Ziyech now first pick

As expected, Chelsea striker Armando Broja has been ruled out for the rest of the season, so Milan turn their focus towards his teammate Hakim Ziyech for the January transfer window.

The Rossoneri had been heavily linked with a swoop for Albania international Broja, but he is no longer an option for them.

That’s because he was stretchered off in agony during Sunday’s friendly game against Aston Villa and tests have now shown he has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

Broja is out for the rest of the season and Milan turn their transfer spotlight across to his Chelsea teammate Ziyech, who is currently preparing for the World Cup semi-final for Morocco against France.

The reigning Serie A champions hope to convince Chelsea into releasing Ziyech on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

At the same time, it means Chelsea need to seek a new centre-forward, having only Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in that role.
