Milan are growing increasingly serious about Joshua Zirkzee as they look to beat Juventus to the talented Bologna striker, reports detail.

The Rossoneri’s shortlist of striker targets is starting to grow smaller as the summer transfer window approaches. Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres is far out of reach and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko has a €70m price tag, essentially taking the duo off the club’s radar.

Milan know a new centre forward needs to arrive this summer, especially with Olivier Giroud heading off to Los Angeles FC, and a decision is expected to be made in the coming weeks. Paulo Fonseca will help plan the club’s summer transfer market and the goal is to give him a new striker soon.

Page six of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Milan are serious about trying for Zirkzee this summer, wanting to take advantage of his €40m release clause. Substantial agent fees will also be attached, but shouldn’t prove too problematic.

There’s no shortage of competition for the Dutch striker, who’d like to stay in Italy, and Juventus are hoping the imminent arrival of Thiago Motta will give them a boost in talks. The Old Lady’s interest is dependant on what happens to Dusan Vlahovic, however.
