According to Sky Sport Italia and other sources, the Milan players asked to donate one day of their salary to local hospitals, who are struggling to deal with the huge influx of patients.

As of Monday, there were 9,172 positive cases in Italy, including 463 deaths and 733 in intensive care.

In 24 hours, the number of sufferers jumped up by 1,598 and there were an extra 97 deaths.
