Pippo Inzaghi has explained Milan’s target heading out the US, his contentment to work with Mario Balotelli and the season objective.
The Rossoneri fly out the United States this afternoon for a four-game tour of the country as they step up pre-season preparations after training so far under their new Coach at Milanello.
“I am very happy, we have worked well,” Inzaghi has told assembled media today ahead of stage two of summer preparations.
“Even in the friendly the guys have been trying to do what we have worked on in training. There is an atmosphere that helps us to work well, I am confident.
“I have told the guys that every time we play we have to improve. We have difficult games, we have many young players, but we are Milan and we always have to make a good impression.
“I am glad for what I have seen in the last few days, we are doing what we have prepared towards. Then, little by little we are improving.
“Perhaps in the next games we will try another playing system, so as to figure out what is the best one for this squad.”
Inzaghi met with Adriano Galliani, Barbara Berlusconi and Silvio Berlusconi at the club’s President’s residence in Arcore over the weekend to discuss work so far and transfer strategy.
“There is great unity by all. Galliani knows what my needs are, there is still something in order to reach the level of Roma and Juve.
“If we do not then we will try to get into the Champions League with grit and determination. We have so many interesting young players, but we must have patience.”
Mario Balotelli is still the centre of debate in Milan, for his future at the club.
“I am calm, Mario is an important player and I will try to help him improve. I will reset everything that has been said about him, I have no problem with him. I have to make the most of his ability.
“Will he leave? The club will decide. If he leaves then we will need a replacement because the prima punte are he and Pazzini. However, I believe that he will remain here.
“It is a good sign that he has asked for a personal trainer to be with him.”
Hachim Mastour is generating excitement at 16 years of age, providing a notable assist in the Rossoneri’s weekend win.
“You have to be calm, he has great quality but he is young. Training with the first team is a great thing for him, but you have to stay calm.
“We have so many important young players – when the time is right I will put them in the field.”
Inzaghi’s former teammate Antonio Conte departed Juventus last week.
“I am sorry, he created an important mindset, but I think that Juventus will still be the team to beat. If Antonio was to become the national team Coach, it would be important to everyone.”
