Milan are said to be in pole position to sign France international Marcus Thuram once his contract expires with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Moenchengladbach at the end of the month, according to Sky Sport Germany.
Sky reports that according to their sources, the 25-year-old has a contract offer on the table waiting to be signed, which would fetch him just shy of €5m per season in terms of wages before bonuses are included.
Thuram, who finished the 2022-23 campaign with 16 goals from 32 appearances in the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal as well as an appearance in the World Cup final, has attracted plenty of interest since news broke that he would not be extending his current deal with Gladbach, including from other teams in Germany, the Premier League and in his native France.
Paris Saint-Germain, the team that Thuram has supported since childhood, are also thought to be among the frontrunners to acquire his services.
However, with nothing having been officially signed as of yet, it is the Rossoneri who are thought to be the favourites to pick up Thuram on a free transfer.
