Milan-Juve vie for Bentancur

Milan have identified Boca Juniors' Rodrigo Bentancur as their primary midfield target, but Juventus are in the way.

The Rossoneri are believed to have a budget of only €15m to bolster Vincenzo Montella's squad, and the 19-year-old Uruguayan would cost them exactly that amount.

The Rossoneri are believed to have a budget of only €15m to bolster Vincenzo Montella's squad, and the 19-year-old Uruguayan would cost them exactly that amount.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the problem is that Juventus also have their eyes on the young talent. Furthermore, the Bianconeri have a negotiating privilege with Boca Juniors on Bentancur which can be traced back to their deal for the sale of Carlos Tevez.

If the Old Lady choose to match the €15m offer, Milan will necessarily have to break their budget to pick up the player.

The Diavolo do have some alternatives on the market. The Corriere dello Sport reports of a renewed interest in Real Madrid's Mateo Kovacic, although in this case €15m are unlikely to be sufficient.
