Milan ask Celtic for Ajer

Milan are back in talks with Celtic for defender Kristoffer Ajer, according to reports in Italy and Scotland, for a loan with option to buy.

The 22-year-old Norway international spent most of his career in Scotland, joining Celtic in 2016.

Both the Herald and Times Sport and Calciomercato.com maintain Milan have again put Ajer on their radar, having already been linked with him in January.

It is also noted that a formal approach has not yet been made, so these are still early days.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims any bid will be a loan with option to buy for €15m, perhaps with a clause making it an obligation once he has played a certain number of games.

Ajer was also said to be of interest to Liverpool, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion.
