“There’s no time to train and the games have become training sessions for us,” Mihajlovic said at a press conference.

“I’ll make my choices, trying to ensure those who are most rested play, but if one day we want to play in Europe, we have to get used to playing three times a week.

“I spoke to those who may have had some problems, but everyone gave me their availability.

“It’s an important game and I’ll try to keep changes to a minimum, but I don’t know if Dijks will start again. We’ll see.

“We have 10 games left and we always want to win, but we know Cagliari have started going again since Zenga came in.

“They have a quality squad, so Giulini deserves praise for putting it together. Zenga’s a dear friend of mine, we talk often.

“I’m happy to be facing him in Serie A, he’s a lovely person and an excellent coach.”

Barrow has scored four goals in nine Serie A games since his arrival from Atalanta in January, but the striker has tended to play more out wide under the Serb.

“He’s more dangerous when he faces goal than with his back to it. Right now he’s giving more out wide, but eventually I’d like to play him as a No 9.

“We know we always concede, so we have to play to score one more than our opponents.”
