Mihajlovic: ‘Torino need three players’

Torino Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic notes “the club knows what I expect” on the transfer market, but reveals there was one who got away.

The Granata beat Guingamp 2-0 in a friendly on Saturday evening, although hitman Andrea Belotti was out with a slight muscular injury.

“I’ve said it before, we are missing at least three players – one for every department – and if we achieve these targets then we can certainly challenge to the end for a place in Europe,” said Mihajlovic.

“I’ve said it before, we are missing at least three players – one for every department – and if we achieve these targets then we can certainly challenge to the end for a place in Europe,” said Mihajlovic.

“Last season’s work helped us to find the right mentality, spirit and culture of hard work. We all know each other now and that’s an advantage going into the new year.

“Daniele Baselli is a different player to the one I met when I arrived here and it’s to his credit, because he realised what I want from him and is trying to put that into practice.

“We are talking to several players who could be of use to us, who we have identified and then we’ll see what happens.

“The club knows what I expect. When they arrive, you’ll understand what I was expecting.”

However, Mihajlovic reveals there was a player who pulled out of the transfer.

“We’re not waiting for anyone now. I had set a deadline of midday, so not receiving a reply, as far as I am concerned the matter is closed.

“I have to say Torino did everything possible to reach an agreement with the other club and offer the player a good contract, but evidently the lad had other plans. I won’t name names.”
