Sampdoria Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic held up his hands to admit “Napoli deserved the victory.”
Although his men rattled the woodwork on a couple of occasions, they were beaten 2-0 at the Stadio San Paolo.
“Without doubt Napoli deserved the victory and we have nothing to complain about,” shrugged Mihajlovic following his first Samp defeat.
“It can happen to lose here, but the most important things were the performance and the chances that we managed to create against a strong side like Napoli in their own stadium.”
Mihajlovic took over mid-season from Delio Rossi and was asked whether he’d change his squad during the January transfer window.
“I have already told the club what we need to do. If we do not achieve our transfer targets, then we’ll continue with this group of players and hope to keep improving.”
