Giovinco’s contract expires in 2019 and he’s keen to open contract talks, but so far there has been no movement from Toronto.
“I already talk, but they said it’s not the moment,” Giovinco told the Toronto Sun this week.
“For them, that’s not a problem, for me it is a little bit. I want to know my future. I have family. I’m 31 years old.
“For what I do for the city, I think I deserve it, no? "I already said I want to stay here forever… If not, I have to think about other options.”
According to calciomercato.com he does have options, as several Mexican clubs have taken note of his performances in the CCL.
Giovinco scored against Chivas, Club America, Tigres and Guadalajara in the competition, and could earn big money in the Liga MX.
