Milan stopper Philippe Mexes has hit out at France boss Didier Deschamps. “He knows nothing about me!”

Deschamps has omitted the former Roma player in recent times and Mexes is unhappy with the Coach’s public comments about him.

“He needs to stop talking about me,” the centre-back told L’Equipe. “He needs to stop saying that he won’t select me until I’m in good shape.

“He knows nothing about me, I’ve not spoken to him and he allows himself to say things which have nothing to do with the national side.”

Deschamps stated earlier this month that he left Mexes out of the squad for the Italy friendly because he was not guaranteed a starting shirt at San Siro.

It has been another tough campaign for the stopper and there have been suggestions that he could be close to a Milan exit.

“That is simply not true,” the Bosman signing added. “I want to stay here and fight in order to leave my mark at this club.”
