“Udinese are an impressive side, who adopt an unusual approach away from home,” the Coach told Inter Channel.

“Their players have pace and clam up to hit you on the break, so we need a perfect game with no spaces. Hopefully this time we can be a little sharper and a bit luckier in front of goal.”

Inter have hit the woodwork more times than any other team in Serie A this season, but also haven’t received a single penalty.

“The record of hitting the frame of the goal shows that at least the team is playing well. As a Coach I evaluate, absurdly, that it’s positive we rattled the woodwork that many times because those are almost-goals.

“It is also clear that we have to sweat for absolutely everything this season. Despite playing well and creating plenty of chances, we are 10cm away from more goals and that would mean more points.

“As for the penalties, I’ve already said I won’t talk about them anymore.”

President Erick Thohir flew in from Indonesia this morning and will be in the stands at San Siro tomorrow night.

“I have always said there is a great union and discussion with the President,” continued Mazzarri.

“Today I also confirmed to him that finishing this season on a high will help us to plan for next year. This is why I insist we mustn’t get distracted from the present, because the present can give us great strength to build an even better Inter next year.”
