“The team is in good physical shape and this is very important,” the Brazilian told Inter Channel after the Week 1 win over Genoa. “This is down to the Coach and his staff.
“We played a good game against Genoa and we’re all happy with the three points which are all that count.”
Jonathan was used as the right wing-back in Mazzarri’s 3-5-1-1 system at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza yesterday.
“I feel I’m at 70-80 per cent,” the South American continued. “Personally I have to continue to make progress.
“Tactically I can improve, although I’ve already learned a lot. But I want to keep working to do even better.
“The Coach’s confidence in me has been crucial and it’s something very important for a player. His words encourage me to do well and help me a lot.”
