Former Inter and Italy defender Marco Materazzi has uploaded an edited picture to his instagram story, making clear his feelings towards former-Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher.
Gallagher, a passionate Manchester City supporter, was playing a gig at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago in the city of Milan on Wednesday evening. He took to the stage with a cardboard cut-out of city coach Pep Guardiola next to him.
It is common for Gallagher to bring some sort of Man City memorabilia on stage with him while he performs, whether it be flags, scarves or City-branded guitar equipment.
Midway through his set, Gallagher addressed the elephant in the room, being last season’s Champions League final between Man City and Inter, which resulted in a 1-0 victory for the Mancunians.
Gallagher decided to dedicate one of Oasis’ most popular hits, Don’t Look Back in Anger, to the Inter supporters in attendance, an obvious reference to their loss in Istanbul back in June.
Some Inter fans, including the aforementioned Materazzi, didn’t take too well to Gallagher’s peacemaking efforts.
On Thursday, Materazzi uploaded a photo with a clown emoji covering Galagher’s face to his one million Instagram followers, much to the amusement of the Italian press.
