Roger Martinez announced he is leaving Jiangsu Suning and is most likely heading to Inter. “I hope to play in Italy next.”
The 23-year-old Colombia international moved from Racing to China in the summer of 2016 for €9m, but is concerned playing there will damage his chances of getting in the World Cup squad.
“Playing in China was a wonderful experience, but now I want to make a step up in my career and hope to play in Italy next,” the striker told El Espectador.

“Playing in China was a wonderful experience, but now I want to make a step up in my career and hope to play in Italy next,” the striker told El Espectador.
“Serie A is a very important league and I always dreamed of wearing the jersey of a European club. I can’t wait.”
Martinez is under contract with Jiangsu Suning until June 2020 and they have the same owners as Inter, Suning Group, so a loan deal would not be difficult to orchestrate.
“I learned so much under Fabio Capello at Jiangsu Suning, as it was a marvellous experience to be guided by a Coach with such experience and capability.
“(Colombia Coach) Jose Pekerman is tracking my progress and I’ll have the possibility to play in a more competitive tournament. My objective is to make it to the World Cup squad.”
