Inter chief Beppe Marotta says that while Serie A chaired a ‘fruitful’ meeting between clubs and officials, ‘there must be more dialogue with IFAB.’
The summit at the offices of Lega Serie A came after a controversial weekend that saw referee Michael Fabbri come under fire for his performance during Juventus’ 2-1 win against Milan.
“It was a fruitful and cooperative meeting,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

The summit at the offices of Lega Serie A came after a controversial weekend that saw referee Michael Fabbri come under fire for his performance during Juventus’ 2-1 win against Milan.
“It was a fruitful and cooperative meeting,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Modern football needs technology: protocol must be improved, especially for fouls in the box.
“We must achieve perfection when it comes to handballs, and we’re going by instructions from IFAB, the body that dictates the rules.
“Even with VAR it’s difficult to reach a definitive conclusion. I’m not [referees designator Nicola] Rizzoli and I don’t know if Fabbri will be dropped.
“We must perfect VAR. The path we’re on is a positive one, despite the mistakes that have been made.
“I stress again that there must be more fruitful dialogue with IFAB.”
Although FIFA is football’s main governing body, IFAB is in charge of the Laws of the Game.
