Marotta: ’Higuain 50-50 for Napoli’

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta says “there’s a 50 per cent chance” Gonzalo Higuain will be ready to face Napoli on Friday.

The striker has broken a finger, and was forced to undergo surgery earlier today, which was successful.

With the Bianconeri facing the league leaders on Friday, it’s a bad time to be without their €90m man.

“It’s an important game against Napoli, but I don’t think it’ll be decisive for the end of the season. Of course we’ll try to honour it in the best way.

“Generally this game comes when Juventus aren’t at the top, but we’re aware how hard the match is and while we respect them, we’re not afraid.

“Higuain? There’s a 50 per cent chance of seeing him on the pitch against Napoli.”

Marotta was also asked about the Champions League, with Juve having lost in the final in 2015 and 2017.

“The desire to raise this blessed cup is a dream to be realised, but don’t forget the league, we want to lift that trophy for the seventh time [in a row] because it’s just as beautiful.”
