Mirko Vucinic “raises the quality level at Juventus,” said director general Beppe Marotta, who blasted the €40m transfers this summer.
The Montenegrin international was presented to the Press today following his €15m move from Roma.
“Vucinic is an element who raises the quality level at Juventus. Both the club and Coach Antonio Conte are satisfied,” said Marotta.
“Mirko is an excellent player and €15m is far inferior to the sum paid in other transfers. The valuation of players like Alexis Sanchez, Javier Pastore and Sergio Aguero is beyond all logic and against the concept of financial fair play.
“Then again, all clubs are free to move the way they see fit.”
Juventus fans are said to be unhappy that Vucinic was the reinforcement in attack after being linked with the likes of Giuseppe Rossi, Sanchez, Pastore and Aguero, all worth well over €30m.
“Our objective is to improve the overall quality of the squad, so there will be more moves from here to the end of the month, above all in selling players.
“Now we have a group of players that is too big for our needs, so will try to settle those who are no longer part of our plans or who would prefer a transfer. We want to get a definitive squad in place as soon as possible.”
