This weekend English papers claimed Allegri was the number one choice to take over at Chelsea next season.

“He is a talented Coach and has popularity, we are happy and he proved himself to be up to the task despite a difficult start,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

“We are very happy with him and believe we can go forward with Allegri. It is an ideal rapport between him and the club and him and the team.

“Pogba and Dybala are two interesting young players, the greatest satisfaction is having them with us as assets for the club. They are spectacular players and we want to hold on tight.

“There are three players whose contracts expire at the end of the season: Caceres, Patrice Evra and Andrea Barzagli. We have a great rapport with them and over the next few weeks will decide what is best for all concerned.

“They are three great professionals who have given a lot to the cause and we’ll evaluate their situation. One thing is certain: Caceres will not be leaving in January.

“We have a big squad and will continue with this selection of players, so we don’t have any particular needs on the market. Our objectives are not available mid-season.”
