The Sardinians completed another comeback from 2-0 down, this time to earn a 2-2 draw at Sassuolo, which keeps them in fourth place alongside Roma.
“We were not our usual selves in the first half, we made a lot of mistakes and were wide open to the counter-attack,” said the coach in his press conference.

“We were not our usual selves in the first half, we made a lot of mistakes and were wide open to the counter-attack,” said the coach in his press conference.
“We lacked balance, but were also in our third game in six days, which is very unusual, especially for Cagliari. It took a lot out of us, but we maintained our belief and were rewarded for that with a point.
“Sassuolo played very well, but we helped them by making the wrong choices and misplacing a lot of passes. We are the kind of team that needs to be totally focused to get a result, but it’s positive that on what was not our best day, we still managed to take home a point.
“We dug deep and managed to get the game back on track. It should give us enthusiasm, but not ideas above our station. We are realistic and take it one game at a time.
“It was an important sign to pick up a positive away result even in these circumstances. This team is having an extraordinary season and we still have to write our story.”
