Rolando Maran said Chievo “did all we could” in a 3-1 defeat to Napoli, as they had taken the lead after 90 seconds.
The Flying Donkeys silenced the San Paolo with Nicola Rigoni, but Gonzalo Higuain, Vlad Chiriches and Jose Callejon turned it all around.
“We tried our best against a good Napoli side that did well to get it back on level terms quickly,” Maran told Mediaset Premium.

“We also tried at the start of the second half and had the opportunity to equalise, but it all became more difficult after Napoli’s third goal.
“The team was generous and certainly put the effort in. We did all we could. Unfortunately we were unable to close down the right flank and suffered quite a lot in that area.”
