Diego Armando Maradona’s lawyer confirms he’ll probably be in the stands on Friday for Roma-Napoli.

Pibe de Oro will be in Rome that day in order to pick up an award from La Gazzetta dello Sport and is eager to swing by for this occasion.

“Destiny has him in Rome on the same day as Roma-Napoli,” Angelo Pisani told Radio Crc.

“Diego will be only a few metres away from the Stadio Olimpico, so who knows, Napoli could well have an extra fan in the stands.

“It would be Maradona’s first time in a stadium cheering on Napoli. We really hope that he’ll be able to make it. Diego will arrive in Italy on Thursday night and, if we can, we’ll go to the Olimpico.”

Maradona had been out of Italy for a decade due to a tax evasion case, but has now resolved those problems.

Roma-Napoli was meant to be played next Saturday, but was brought forward 24 hours so it would not clash with a huge protest march in the city.
