Kostas Manolas urged Roma to follow the example set by Juventus when hosting Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
The Giallorossi lost the first leg 2-1 in Ukraine after taking the lead, so Tuesday night’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico will be decisive.
“We need our fans, as they are fundamental. We’ll give our all over the next three days to be ready and achieve our objective of a place in the Champions League quarter-finals. We deserve to go through,” Manolas told Mediaset Premium.
“We require calm, intelligence, experience and balance. We saw with Juve against Tottenham that you need all those elements, otherwise you won’t go forward.”
Juventus were held 2-2 at home in the first leg and went behind at Wembley, but Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala turned it around.
Manolas was on target in Friday night’s 3-0 Serie A victory over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico.
“I am happy to have scored a goal, but even happier with the victory. We are Roma and must always step on to the field with a winning mentality, because if you don’t, then you won’t win.
“It was a poor first half, but the goal released some of the pressure and after that we played good football. Torino were clamming up and then dangerous on the counter, but once we scored, they had to open the spaces.”
