Manenti: ‘No Parma sale without me’

President Giampietro Manenti slams the city mayor's attempts to arrange an auction for the sale of Parma, saying 'he doesn't own the club'.

Parma mayor Federico Pizzarotti has repeatedly attacked Manenti in the past few days, saying he is 'not credible' as a representative of the club.

Sky Sport reported today that the mayor may be arranging for a third party to take control of Parma, possibly through an auction, so that the team may play the remainder of their Serie A games.

Manenti has hit back at these suggestions with a statement published on the club's website.

“If someone is seriously interested in buying the club, they can speak to me or to the professionals who work for me,” reads the statement.

“Parma's mayor Federico Pizzarotti is not the owner of Parma FC and he has no mandate whatsoever to broker the sale of the club.”
