Hellas are fresh from a remarkable comeback, turning a 2-0 deficit into a 2-2 draw with leaders Juventus last week.
“I re-watched the final minutes of that game and was touched,” said the Coach. “To this day I don’t know how we scored, as it was a perfect move between Juan Iturbe, Romulo and Juanito Gomez. It was wild.
“However, we now have to get back to being concentrated on Torino. I see this as a head-to-head in order to see who reaches 40 points first. In that sense, it is a very important match.”
Serie A safety is traditionally achieved at 40 points, but Verona are already on 36 and sitting in sixth place, while Torino are seventh on 33.
“It’s true both teams score a lot of goals, but for once I’d like to keep a clean sheet. Giampiero Ventura’s sides have a specific identity with strikers who attack the space in an efficient manner, as they also made us suffer earlier this season.
“They are also extremely dangerous on the counter-attack.”
Verona can finally give Michael Rabusic his Serie A debut, as FIFA passed the international transfer on Saturday.
“He is a centre-forward and it won’t be easy to just throw him in, as we have a very balanced side. Marquinho, Ivan Pillud and Rabusic have a lot of work to do in order to be fully fit.”
