Mancini has been one of this season’s revelations in Serie A, scoring five goals despite being a centre-back, and the Italy Under-21 international discussed the speculation about his future, while revealing the secret to Atalanta’s success.
“I lived through January calmly, only thinking about training well for Atalanta,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“The Coach is getting the best out of the group. Interest is normal and I was flattered to find out some teams were watching me, but I know I’m at a good club already and right now I’m only thinking about Atalanta.
“The present builds the future so I have to do well here in Bergamo. Inter? No, they’re things that have been said because they’re beautiful to tell.
“Materazzi was my idol and my family were Inter fans, but now they support Atalanta because I play for Atalanta. Our secret is Gasperini.
“He’s a hammer in training and during matches. It’s normal that those who leave struggle when they leave: here in Bergamo you can make mistakes unlike elsewhere.
“We’ll see what happens in the future.”Mancini reacts to Roma & Inter links
