The trio were called up for Italy’s upcoming Nations League games against Poland and Portugal, despite their collective lack of game time, prompting Mancini to make an appeal to Serie A Coaches.
“I’m excited that we’ll start playing for the three points,” the CT continued at a Press conference.
“We’re convinced that we’ll do well. The important thing is that we become a team as soon as possibly because there are only 3-4 players in the world, who can win games by themselves.
“Benassi is doing great things, we’ve been following him for some time as he played at all youth levels.
“Bernardeschi? We won’t exclude also using him in midfield or as a No 10. We have some problems in midfielders because of the poor use of Pellegrini, Cristante, Gagliardini and many others.
“Verratti? He should be back in the next squad. We hope he will. As for De Rossi, I’ve talked to him and he’s part of our experienced group, a true champion to be clear.
“If he’s needed, he’ll be called up. Daniele made himself available. The same more or less goes for Buffon, even if we have more material to work with in goal.
“I hope to see the Belotti of a year ago, the one that scored a bucket load before his injury problems.
“Balotelli? I think he’s fit enough. He’s lost 8-9 grams!”
